About

Welcome to Folding for Good.

My name is Calista Frederick-Jaskiewicz, and I am the Founder and CEO of Origami Salami and Folding for Good. I am a high school student in the United States who advocates for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) studies through the exploration of origami; then I try to Do Good with it.

Teaming up with students in 14 locations in the United States, Australia, the Philippines, and Hungary, I help organize and publicize these efforts. In 2012-13, we participated in or staged over two dozen events everywhere. Our largest Folding for Good initiative, “Operation Sandy Hook: Peace,” netted over 10,000 origami cranes and origami projects, including an original design kusudama, from folders on four continents and in 13 countries; 5,050 of our peace cranes have been displayed in a month long exhibit at the Carnegie Science Center.  Our Facebook fan base topped 1K. We have “friends” in 93 countries.
